A Springfield woman has been sentenced to 11 months behind bars for attempting to help two Sangamon County Jail inmates escape. 28-year-old Allison Poorman pleaded guilty last year to federal charges stemming from the elaborate plot.

Prosecutors say Poorman and another man provided numerous items of contraband to inmates James Russwinkel and Randy Bull while they were in the county jail. The items included a hack saw, zip ties, a handcuff key, rope, smoke bombs, and a cell phone. An anonymous phone tip to the jail led to the discovery of the plot and prevented the escape.

In addition to the prison sentence, Poorman was ordered to pay a fine of nearly 23-hundred dollars.
