Springfield fire investigators are trying to determine what started a blaze that heavily damaged a home on South 16th Street.
Flames were throughout the structure when firefighters arrived shortly after 11pm Sunday. Three engine companies responded to the fire, and an aerial truck was brought in to douse the burning home and put out the fire.
One person was at home when the fire broke out but escaped without injury.
