More money is coming to Springfield for the next phase of the city’s railroad relocation project.

Congressmen Rodney Davis and Darin LaHood announced that the city has been awarded $13.5 million for what is known as “Usable Segment Three” of the multi-year project to expand and improve the 10th Street tracks.

The latest grant will fund a new underpass at Madison and Jefferson Streets, track work through much of downtown, and new grade crossing and pedestrian signals at Washington, Monroe, and Capitol.
