A Springfield hibachi and buffet will be reopening after spending almost four months closed due to health department violations.
Hibachi Grill Supreme Buffet, located at 2309 South MacArthur Boulevard was closed by health officials on June 16, 2021. Violations included mouse droppings and food stored in a broken refrigerator.
The business will reopen with a new name, Hibachi Sushi Supreme Buffet on Thursday (October 14). WICS News Channel 20 reports the owners have completed extensive repairs, upgrades, and additional training with the staff.
The last inspection of the restaurant was on September 30, 2021, and the health department will continue to conduct routine inspections of establishment through the end of the year.
