The Springfield and Central Illinois African American History Museum announced a new Interim Executive Director has been appointed to its executive leadership team.
Dr. Kamau Kemayo will manage all day-to-day operations for the AAHM and will be responsible for education, community
engagement initiatives and programs.
He possesses an exceptional and extensive background in African American history and education, which are set to provide the foundation for new teaching and learning opportunities.
The museum will soon undergo an expansion that is set to provide additional meeting and exhibit space for staff and museum-goers alike.
