Almost 1000 Scouts will descend upon Springfield to honor our nation’s 16th President in this year’s 79th annual Lincoln Pilgrimage Weekend, taking place April 26-28.
Scouts will camp at New Salem, and Camp Illinek. Many will
hike the historic Lincoln Trail; the same trail Abraham Lincoln walked every day while studying law from New Salem to Springfield.
Troops, crews and packs will have the opportunity to visit Lincoln landmarks, such as the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum, Lincoln’s Law Office & home, historic New Salem, Lincoln’s Tomb, and more.
The weekend’s activities will conclude with ceremonies at Oak Ridge Cemetery and the annual Lincoln Pilgrimage from
Lincoln’s Tomb to the Old State Capitol.
