On Saturday, April 6 the Crafted Stag men’s supply store formally opened its doors in Springfield.

The new store – located at 3455 Freedom Drive, in the space of the former Westside Bar & Grill – offers a customer experience quintessentially tailored “for men,” featuring collections of outdoor wear and men’s dress items, as well as a bar and lounge area.

Featured also is the attached Uppercuts Barbershop, run by veteran Springfield barber Justin Moon. A performing area near the entrance also allows for guests to enjoy live performances while sipping from barista John Droegkamp’s Iron Stag coffee.

Store owner Grant Hammer, together with his wife and business partner Jennifer, drew inspiration from their passion for the lodge-going cabin life:

“I’m a skier,” explained Grant. “If you’ve ever gone skiing, you look at the ski signs and they all have goofy names — it needed to be something kind of whimsical.

“I thought, ‘Where can you go and get a haircut, maybe have a coffee, kind of stock up for the weekend, all under one roof?’ and a lightbulb went off.”

The grand opening was attended by Mayor Misty Buscher and the Springfield Chamber of Commerce, who welcomed the Crafted Stag to the Springfield community with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
