Mental Health Monday: Post New Year Blues [VIDEO]

Mental Health Monday

It’s been a rough New Year for me, seemingly everything is good but sometimes when something happens like a Holiday or New Year, it has a tendency to bring me down. When everything finishes up; the neighborhoods are quiet, the lights come down, music goes away and that scary thing called “normalcy’ starts to creep in.

I haven’t made it easy for my wife recently, and we broke it down and talked about it. These aren’t the most fun conversations to have but they are extremely important. If you deal with depression from time to time, its paramount you have someone you can talk to. That can be anyone; your friend, Gym or Bar, family members. A totally random stranger. She was really able to help me.

It’s hard to really see what’s going on with you until you talk to someone who knows you really well. Listen to them. Sometimes it can be difficult to understand your feelings when you’re in the middle of everything.

Most of all, if you can, put things into the big picture. Think about all the things you have that others don’t. Find comfort in these thoughts, because when it comes down to it, if you have a roof over your head you have something to find comfort in.

As per usual, if you need to talk to someone, you can always email me at Rocki@WNNS.com. I am always here to talk to anyone who needs it. Have a great week! Today is national BUBBLE BATH DAY.  I say, treat yourself. Tale some time and relax this evening watching your favorite program or music on your phone. Light some candles. Go all out.

Here is this weeks super fun happy times video:
