Holiday season displays at the Capitol Rotunda are taking the year off.

The Secretary of State decided to suspend the decorations because of construction work on buildings in the capitol complex which has caused the Rotunda space to be more crowded with displaced items.

Rabbi Meir Moscowitz has said that the Lubavich Chabad of Illinois will find a place to put their menorah, while Minister Adam of the Satanic Temple told WMAY News that they’d wait until next year to mount another Holiday Season installation.

In a typical year, the Capitol Rotunda is decorated with a Christmas tree as well as a crèche, a menorah, and a Satanic Temple image.
