Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon has confirmed the death and identity of a 21-year-old woman from Springfield in a motor vehicle accident in town.
The victim, Jessica Walker, was transported by EMS from the intersection of Chatham Road and West Monroe Street in Springfield, to the emergency room at Memorial Hospital Thursday.
An autopsy was performed, and preliminary findings suggest that the victim died from multiple blunt-force injuries sustained in the accident.
The death remains under investigation by the Sangamon County Coroner.
