A troupe of terminally “woke” artists scrambles to create a pageant that somehow manages to celebrate both Thanksgiving and Native American Heritage Month.
That’s the premise of the UIS Theater Department’s production of “The Thanksgiving Play” written by Larissa FastHorse.
The New York Times said, “The familiar, whitewashed story of Pilgrims and Native Americans chowing down together gets a delicious roasting from expert [playwriting].”
Performances are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the UIS Theater.
