The House Ethics and Elections Committee heard testimony from members of the Illinois State Board of Elections this week regarding election security in our state.
Officials told the Committee that a repeat of the 2016 Russian hack of the state’s voter database is unlikely.
The breach affected up to 500-thousand personal voter records. In response, the agency has developed the Cyber Navigator Program, which assigns personnel to train election authority officers to prevent security breaches.
