MLB playoffs the Texas Rangers eliminated the Baltimore Orioles with a 7-1 victory. The win gave the Rangers a series sweep and was their 5th straight postseason win. The Rangers now advance to the ALCS as they await the winner of the Houston Astros vs. Minnesota Twins series.
Speaking of that series, the Astros lead that series two games to 1, thanks to a 9-1 win yesterday in Minnesota. Game 4 of that series is this evening in Minnesota.
NL playoff action game 3 of the Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies series is tonight in Philly. That series is tied at a game apiece. Elsewhere in the NL, game 3 of the Arizona Diamondbacks and LA Dodgers series is tonight in Arizona. The D-backs lead that series two games to none.
NHL opening night, Chicago Blackhawks rookie phenom Connor Bedard did not find the back of the net, but four other Hawks players did as the Blackhawks defeated the Penguins in Pittsburgh 4-2 in the final. Ryan Donato, Nick Foligno, Jason Dickinson, and Cole Guttman all scored for the Hawks in the contest, and Connor Bedard did pick up an assist. Petr Mrazek got the win in net, making 38 saves. The Hawks are in Boston tonight to take on the Bruins.
