Land of Lincoln Honor Flight 69 is headed to Washington, DC on Tuesday.

While the September flight will conclude the 2023 season, Honor Flight officials tell WMAY News that they’ve made their way through the extensive wait list of World War II, Korean, and Vietnam War veterans, thus calling off the need for an October flight.

The Honor Flight will return to Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport in Springfield at approximately 9:30 P.M. Tuesday night. The not-for-profit organization encourages the community to welcome home the veterans with signs and American flags.

Land of Lincoln Honor Flight is already in the planning stages for more flights in 2024. If you want to learn more about the Land of Lincoln Honor Flight or download a veteran and guardian application for future flights, visit LandOfLincolnHonorFlight.org.
