Novak Djokovic defeated Daniil Medvedev 6-3, 7-6 (5), 6-3 in the US Open final on Saturday, giving him his 24th major singles title, the most by any player of the Open era.

The 36-year-old from Serbia was tied with Serena Williams, who retired with 23, and is now two ahead of Rafael Nadal, who has 22 and is still active but has been slowed down lately with injuries.

Djokovic’s age means most of his professional tennis is behind him, but he shows no signs of slowing down. In fact, Djokovic has won the majority of his Grand Slam finals during the latter stages of his career.

Williams won her 23rd singles title at the 2017 Australian Open while pregnant, a feat Djokovic is not expected to ever achieve.
