Sangamon County is on the lookout for artists who wish to express themselves for the community and the area’s local history.

The county announced on Tuesday morning that it is seeking to find “qualified professional artists” who might eventually be “invited to install a large-scale work of art in the entrance of the newly constructed Sangamon County atrium space.”

To this end, County Chairman Andy VanMeter has appointed a group of well-known community members to an advisory committee that will be making the final artist recommendations for the potential future art project to the Sangamon County Board.

This advisory committee includes representatives from the local art community, elected officials, county employees, and community leaders.

The deadline for artists to respond to the RFQ is October 31, 2023, by noon. No late entries will be accepted.
