A pilot program designed to keep the brightest high school students in state for college now has permanent funding thanks to legislation signed by Gov. JB Pritzker earlier this month.

The AIM HIGH Program passed with bipartisan support and offers renewable scholarships to 12 public four-year institutions in Illinois, including the University of Illinois – Springfield, Illinois State, the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana and Southern Illinois University.

Students must meet academic requirements set by each university and families must meet income eligibility criteria. Grant amounts are subject to appropriation from the General Assembly and vary by institution. Each university’s AIM HIGH grant program is described in detail on the university’s website.
