Illinois Governor JB Pritzker touted his trip to London on Wednesday, mentioning how expanding the relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom will be vital to both the state and both nations.

He mentioned that the “memorandum of understanding” signed by both the U.S. and U.K. will ensure that trade relations will continue to improve and develop post-pandemic and post-Brexit.

The governor noted that Illinois has many businesses that do business across the Atlantic Ocean and that the U.K. is a jumping-off point to the rest of Europe for many of these companies; he also noted that many companies – over 850 – from the U.K. are already working in Illinois.
