All Illinois counties remain at a low level of COVID transmission, based upon hospital admissions for COVID-related illnesses around the state.

Since the declared health emergency came to an end last month, hospital admissions are now one of the main metrics to assess whether transmission rates are spiking.

With rates remaining low, the Illinois Department of Public Health says it will now issue COVID updates monthly instead of weekly or bi-weekly, with its next update now planned for July 14th.
