All Illinois counties are currently at a low level of COVID transmission – but if that changes, you might not hear about it.
With the imminent end of the declared COVID public health emergency on May 11, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will no longer track community-level data on COVID infections, and will no longer report if counties are at high, medium, or low levels of transmission.
Hospitals will also no longer be required to report the number of COVID patients in hospital beds, the ICU or on ventilators.
