For the second game in a row the Chicago Cubs offense could only muster a single run as they fell to the Nationals in DC 2-1 the final. Adbert Azolay was the tough luck loser for the Cubs in relief. Cubs and Nats wrap up their series this afternoon in DC.
Don’t look now but after losing 10 straight the Chicago White Sox have now won 3 straight games as they defeated the Minnesota Twins at the Rate last night 6-4 the final. Luis Robert homered and drove in 3 to lead the Sox offense. The Sox go for the 4-game sweep of the Twins this afternoon at the Rate.
It was another collapse for the St. Louis Cardinals last night at Busch as they gave up 3 runs in the top of the 9th inning to the LA Angels to lose 6-4. Giovanny Gallegos took the loss for the Cards in relief. Dylan Carlson and Nolan Gorman homered for the Cards in the contest. The Cards and Angels wrap up their series this afternoon at Busch.
NBA playoffs last night, the Boston Celtics blew out the Philadelphia 76ers 121-87 to tie up that series at a game apiece.
NHL playoffs last night the Carolina Hurricanes blew out the New Jersey Devils 5-1 in game 1 of that series. Elsewhere Leon Draisaitl scored 4 goals but it wasn’t enough as the Edmonton Oilers fell in game 1 to the Las Vegas Golden Knights 6-4 the final.
