A Springfield man is in custody after a search of his home. The Springfield Police Street Crimes Unit obtained a warrant for the home in the 16-hundred block of West Cook.

Monday afternoon, officers observed 30-year-old Maurice Swan leave the home and took him into custody while they carried out the search; they found two Glock firearms, one with an attached laser sight.

Swan was booked into the Sangamon County Jail on preliminary charges including armed habitual criminal, unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, and possession of a firearm without a valid FOID card.
