The so-called “ComEd Four” have been convicted on all counts in a scheme to influence former Illinois House Speaker Mike Madigan.

The four defendants included the former CEO of Commonwealth Edison, two other former utility officials, and a close associate of Madigan’s.

Federal prosecutors accused the four of providing more than a million dollars in jobs and other favors to Madigan allies in order to entice the Speaker to give favorable treatment to legislation sought by the utility.

Madigan has been charged separately in connection with what prosecutors say was a wide-ranging corruption scheme; his trial is scheduled for next year.
