Three Sangamon County residents have died of complications from COVID-19 in the past week, according to data from the Illinois Department of Public Health.
That brings the local death toll from the virus to 452. Sangamon County remains at a low level of community transmission for the virus, but two neighboring counties have climbed to a medium level.
Macoupin and Montgomery are among four Illinois counties with an elevated rate of transmission of the virus.
