A Southern Illinois family that had been reported as missing for more than two months has reportedly been found safe in Arizona.

Family members became concerned when Stephen and Monica Lutz and two small children left their family home in Newton on February 10.

The couple’s phones were disconnected several days later, and the family had no contact with loved ones since. Now WCIA-TV reports that authorities in Arizona used license plate readers and other leads to track the family to Cochise County in the southeastern part of that state.

Authorities say they talked to the husband and wife separately and determined the family is safe, but has no plans to return to Illinois.
