A ShotSpotter alert has led to the seizure of four handguns from a Springfield home. Police were dispatched to 14th and Pine last Thursday afternoon after ShotSpotter detected gunfire in the area.
Witnesses told police that a juvenile had fired shots toward a vehicle and then ran into a home in the 13-hundred block of East Pine.
Police got a search warrant for the home and recovered the four guns, including one which had been reported stolen and another that did not have a serial number; police are seeking an arrest warrant for the juvenile.
The four guns raise the total seized by Springfield police to 38 during the month of March – and 93 so far this year.
