Two men are headed to prison in separate prosecutions by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Springfield.

25-year-old Robert Merriman of Springfield was sentenced to eight years in prison for the possession and distribution of child pornography.

Prosecutors say Merriman shared hundreds of explicit images through various online apps.

In an unrelated case, 37-year-old Adam Dahl of White Hall was sentenced to 10 years in prison for possession of meth with intent to distribute.

Dahl was declared a career offender, with seven prior drug convictions, and was given an enhanced sentence because he had a firearm in his possession at the time of his arrest.
