Another Sangamon County resident has died of COVID-19. Overall since the start of the pandemic, 446 county residents have died of complications of the virus, out of nearly 77,000 total confirmed cases in the county.
Sangamon and surrounding counties remain at a “low” level of community transmission of the virus, while 12 counties, primarily in northern and eastern Illinois, are at a medium level.
