A Petersburg man has been arrested on child pornography charges.
29-year-old Adam Power was taken into custody Wednesday after a more-than-two-year investigation into his alleged conduct.
Athens Police initiated the investigation in December of 2020 after learning of a subject distributing child porn through an online platform. The investigation led to a search of Power’s residence, which police say produced more evidence leading to his arrest.
Other agencies, including Illinois State Police, Petersburg Police, the Menard County Sheriff’s Office, and the Illinois Attorney General’s Office took part in the investigation. Power is being held on felony charges in the Menard County Jail.
