Also on Wednesday, Senator Dick Durbin of Illinois hung out with the Wounded Warrior Project and some of the veterans that have served in the post-9/11 American wars across the world.
Senator Durbin spoke about the necessity of adequate funding the VA medical and mental health centers, and noted that the Honoring our PACT Act will help veterans who are sick to get more of what the government owes them as it concerns monetary and supportive compensation.
“When Americans sign up to serve our country in the military, we promise that we will not leave them behind. I appreciated the opportunity to meet directly with Illinois veterans to hear about what they need to care for their well-being, as well as that of their families. I’ll continue to honor these veterans’ service by being an outspoken voice to ensure access to the care they earned and ensure that the PACT Act is properly, and swiftly, implemented.”
