A Logan County man has been sentenced to five years in prison on federal child pornography charges.
42-year-old Joshua Skelton of San Jose was indicted in November of 2021 and pleaded guilty to the charges last September.
At sentencing, prosecutors presented evidence that Skelton had possessed or traded hundreds of images of sexually explicit content involving children, using online chat applications.
The case was investigated by the Springfield field office of the FBI, along with Illinois State Police and the Logan County Sheriff’s Department.
