The Springfield City Council will have several items to consider during Tuesday’s committee of the whole meeting.
The agenda includes an ordinance formally adopting the five-year strategic plan to combat homelessness, spearheaded by the Heartland Continuum of Care and Heartland: HOUSED.
Another ordinance up for discussion this week would change the amount of time that a mayoral appointee can serve in an acting capacity.
Currently, an acting appointee can stay in place without City Council approval for up to a year.
Alderman Jim Donelan’s ordinance would cut that time frame to 90 days.
His proposal would not take effect until after the April mayoral election.
