You’ll get a chance to hear from this year’s candidates for the Springfield School Board at a forum planned for Tuesday evening at Southeast High School.

The event begins with a meet-and-greet with candidates in the Southeast commons, starting at 5:30 pm.

Shortly after 6 pm, the forum will get underway in the school’s auditorium.

It will begin with brief remarks from the candidates in uncontested school board races, followed by a forum with questions for eight candidates in three contested races in subdistricts 2, 3, and 4.

WMAY’s Jim Leach will moderate the forum, with questions on issues like student achievement, school safety, and teacher recruitment and retention.
