A former Channel 20 reporter has died, just days after being diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer.
Dawn Picken worked in Springfield years ago, and then moved on to several larger TV markets. But after the death of her husband in 2010, she and the couple’s two young children moved to New Zealand, where she worked as a writer. Picken recounted the story of her husband’s death and her decision to move overseas in her book “Love, Loss, and Lifelines,” which came out this fall.
