A man who was already awaiting sentencing for his actions during the January 6th U.S. Capitol insurrection is now in even bigger trouble… charged in last week’s deadly crash on Interstate 55 that took the life of a North Carolina woman.

44-year-old Shane Woods is being held in the Sangamon County Jail on $2 million bond on charges that include reckless homicide and aggravated driving under the influence. Police say he was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of the interstate and struck two other vehicles. 35-year-old Lauren Wegner of North Carolina died in the crash.

Woods was already facing up to eight years in prison when he’s sentenced in January on charges of assaulting a police officer and a journalist during the assault on the Capitol.
