It’s now an all-time record.
The jackpot for Saturday night’s Powerball drawing has grown again, now up to $1.6 billion, the single biggest prize ever offered in a U.S. lottery drawing. No one has matched all the winning numbers in the multi-state Powerball game since early August.
A single winner could take the whole prize as an annuity, paid out over 20 years, or could choose a lump sum of more than $780 million before taxes. The new jackpot surpasses the previous record of $1.58 billion, won by three ticketholders back in 2016.
