AG: Check Sex Offender Registry Before Kids Go Trick-Or-Treating

In addition to making sure your child has a costume that can be easily seen after dark, state officials have another important safety tip this Halloween.

 

Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul says before you head out, you should check the state’s child sex offender registry to make sure you avoid any residences where an offender might live.

 

Registered sex offenders are prohibited from distributing candy on Halloween, but Raoul says it makes sense to take extra precautions.
