A leading civil rights groups for gays, lesbians, and transgender people is making endorsements in state legislative races.
Equality Illinois is supporting mostly Democrats in races around the state.
The group made no endorsements in Springfield-area races, except in the 48th State Senate District, where it is backing Democrat Doris Turner over her GOP rival, state Representative Sandy Hamilton.
