Enrollment is up this fall at the University of Illinois Springfield.
Almost 42-hundred students are enrolled, an increase of more than six-percent over last year. Almost 24-hundred students are undergraduates, with 18-hundred graduate students at UIS. The university says 62-percent of students are enrolled in classes on campus, with 38-percent studying online. Meanwhile, the University of Illinois had its second-largest freshman class ever on the Urbana campus, with more than 79-hundred new students, down more than 500 from the record set a year ago.
Total enrollment at UIUC is more than 56,000, which is a university record.
