Final attendance numbers are not in yet for this year’s Illinois State Fair, but it proved to be a very successful run for a number of fair vendors.
Cullers’ French Fries… which has been a fixture at the fair in Springfield for 75 years, says it broke all-time sales records. Owners Jim and Darcie Cullers say the first Saturday of this year’s fair was the business’s highest-grossing sales ever, at any fair… and then Cullers’ broke that record the next day.
Schneider’s Elephant Ears also set records, going through 44 boxes of dough… with each box making 100 elephant ears. That compares to 30 boxes used during an average state fair.
