Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White has tested positive for COVID-19.

White, who is 88 years old, is reportedly experiencing mild symptoms and is working from home during his period of quarantine. White’s office says the six-term secretary of state is double-vaccinated and has received two booster shots.

He will step down in January after he decided not to seek re-election to the post he’s held since 1998.
