Illinois Unemployment Rate Falls Again

Illinois’s statewide unemployment rate dipped again slightly in July to its lowest level since before the pandemic began.

 

The jobless rate fell one-tenth of one-percent to 4.4 percent in July. Unemployment is down almost two full percentage points from July of last year, when it stood at 6.2 percent.

 

Illinois added 31,200 jobs last month… and nonfarm payrolls are up by 236,000 total jobs since this time last year.
