Darren Bailey’s campaign for governor is once again scrutiny because of social media posts… this time by the candidate’s wife.
Cindy Bailey identifies herself on Facebook as a “consultant and strategist” for the campaign, and has frequently appeared as a campaign surrogate. Crain’s Chicago Business reviewed some of her posts going back to 2016, in which she called on people to cancel Netflix for, quote, “normalizing homosexuality,” raised doubts about the 2020 election, and appeared to endorse a “no migrants” policy. Darren Bailey responded with a video in which he said Governor JB Pritzker and his “allies in the media” are attacking his wife and twisting her words.
Bailey says he’s on the ballot, not his wife, and he can speak for himself.
