U.S. Senator Dick Durbin says a key piece of legislation awaiting a final vote will make a difference in bringing down the inflation that has been hitting Illinois families hard.

The Inflation Reduction Act which passed the Senate last weekend and will be voted on soon in the House is getting more attention for its corporate tax and climate change provisions. But Durbin says it will also help to bring down health care costs, which he says are a big driver of inflation.

However, Durbin says the bill could have done even more good… if Republicans had not stripped out an amendment that would have capped the cost of insulin at just $35 a month, instead of the hundreds of dollars monthly that many families must pay for the drug.
