The Mega Millions game is now a billion-dollar gamble.
The top prize for the multi-state game has surpassed the billion-dollar mark, after no one matched all six winning numbers again Tuesday night. It’s only the fourth time in U.S. history that a lottery prize has topped that milestone.
A single winner in the next drawing could choose a lump sum option of more than $600 billion before taxes. The grand prize is likely to keep growing ahead of that drawing, Friday night at 10pm Central time.
