Gas prices are continuing their steady decline in Springfield and statewide.
The average price for regular unleaded in Springfield fell Monday to $4.50 a gallon, down more than 77 cents from the record high set on June 11th. That puts Springfield slightly under the national average of $4.52 a gallon.
Statewide, the average price for regular unleaded dipped to $5.00 a gallon, the lowest it’s been since May 31st and down 56 cents a gallon from the all-time high set just over a month ago.
