The Springfield Park District will get a share of more than $30 million being distributed by the state for park projects around Illinois.
The district will get $400,000 for the redevelopment of Kiwanis Park, on Stanton Avenue in the Lake Victoria neighborhood. Auburn is also getting $400,000, for improvements to its Union Park.
In total, 87 projects around the state are getting funding through the Open Space Land Acquisition and Development program, run by the state Department of Natural Resources.
