A protest is planned for Saturday in Springfield in response to the U.S. Supreme Court ruling overturning a constitutional right to an abortion.
Several groups… including the Resistor Sisterhood, Planned Parenthood Illinois Action, the League of Women Voters, and Black Lives Matter… are jointly sponsoring the event, entitled “Bans Off Our Bodies.” Organizers say speakers will share personal stories, discuss who will be affected by the Supreme Court decision, and lay out a call to action.
The rally is planned for 9:30am to noon Saturday on the Old State Capitol Plaza.
