A federal judge has tossed out a lawsuit over a state law requiring gas stations to post signs about a temporary gas tax freeze approved by lawmakers in the spring.

The Illinois Fuel and Retail Association calls the sign forced political speech, but U.S. District Judge Sue Myerscough says the required language of the sign is a factual statement about suspending a gas tax hike, not political speech.

And Myerscough says the signage requirement is not burdensome on the gas stations.
