Springfield police will hold information sessions on what it takes to become a city police officer.
As part of ongoing recruitment efforts, the department will hold one session on Thursday, June 30th at the city police academy on Color Plant Road, with a second session on Saturday, July 9th, at the NAACP offices on South 11th.
The application deadline for an entry-level police position is Sunday, July 24th. Applicants will have to take a physical exam and a written test in late July or early August. More details are available through the city’s human resources department.
